After Rhodes last week Felixstowe brought me back down to earth with
a...
6 of us hung out for a good hour be4 the wind started filling. My sail
choice chart said rig 7.8M as it was a building wind, rig 9.2M because I am
a wa.ker :)
The sea / shore break was OK but tricky, but there was aline between the
waves. Had a few decent runs and gybes, but the 9.2M was too much. Stopped
near the pier and crank downhaul/outhaul, and had afew more minutes but
7.0M was the right sail. At 4.30 cold, I had enough, watched the 6 or so
sailors having a good time with Darren wave riding on 5.7 ish sail. Maker
done his sail in trying to get thru the break on a easterly with not enough
power...he didn't think much of Manor, but the sea did rough up a bit when
the tide turned when I finished. Got cold at the end....
I would have had a great time on 7.8M...why do I always rig the wrong
sail?...
